Legacy Anthems

Legacy Anthems

When someone passes beyond our sight,
Love does not surrender to the night.
It gathers names, the rooms, the days,
And guards their light in hidden ways.

We fear that time will blur the face,
The voice, the laugh, the living grace.
That years will carry far away
What once felt close as yesterday.

But music opens sealed-up rooms,
And lets remembered presence bloom.
A melody can cross the years
And hold what cannot disappear.

A legacy is not a stone,
A date, a name, a life once known.
It is the love a person gave,
Still moving long beyond the grave.

It lives in kindness handed on,
In courage rising after dawn.
In words repeated, lessons kept,
In promises the living protect.

Some lives are quiet, some are bright,
Some change a world, some change one life.
But every soul has left a trace,
A human mark no time can erase.

A song cannot reverse goodbye,
Or answer every grieving why.
It cannot mend each broken part,
But it can give the ache a heart.

For grief needs somewhere it can go,
A sacred form in which to flow.
And when the words alone feel small,
A voice in music carries all.

When memory enters melody,
It moves from private history.
One cherished life, through rhythm shared,
Becomes a light that others bear.

The name is spoken, clear and true,
The world remembers something new:
Not only how the story ends,
But how its meaning still extends.

New instruments may shape the sound,
But human love remains the ground.
The tool may help the music start;
The reason comes from human heart.

We sing not to imprison time,
Or make the past a perfect shrine.
We sing to let the lost move through
The lives still growing from what they knew.

And every chorus carried on
Says absence has not made love gone.
What mattered then still matters here;
The song makes distant presence near.

So let these anthems rise and be
A bridge from love to memory.
For while one living voice still sings,
A life can echo into everything.
